"Celebration of the Midwest
Family"
by Jim Bass, Topeka 1981
A bronze sculpture is the focal point of the heritage court of the home office of Mutual Savings at 100 S. 4th Street in Leavenworth Kansas. The tallest of the three piece figure set is nine feet. The sculpture is placed on a three foot high base capped with bronze. The sculpture depicts the spirit, strength and joy of a symbolic Midwest family with each being a unique individual. The circular setting for the original work of art further represents the security of the circle of family and friends that is such an important part of everyone's heritage.
