Tyler J. Swift has been appointed Controller of Mutual Savings Association.  Tyler has been employed at Mutual Savings since January 2001.  He started as a part-time teller while in high school.  As Tyler’s maturity and experience increased, so did his responsibilities.  In 2005 he transferred to the accounting department.

Tyler graduated from Lansing High School in 2002 with honors. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Business with a double major in Finance and Accounting from the University of Kansas. He was a member of Triangle Fraternity. While at K.U. Tyler got a rare opportunity.  As part of a securities analysis class, he was chosen by his group to “pitch” an investment opportunity to Warren Buffet in person.  ( We hear  "The Oracle of Omaha" is still considering the proposal.)

“Mutual uses part-time employment opportunities as a way to “interview” talented young high school and college students for full-time positions with the Association,” said David Hoppes, President.  “When a young person works for you for several years, you can evaluate their character, capabilities, and fit with your culture to a degree no other selection process allows.  Some of our most successful employees started as part-timers while in school.  Tyler is the most recent example.”

Tyler is a life long resident of the area. Currently he resides in Leavenworth with his fiancée Michelle Visocsky.  Michelle is a Branch Manager for North American Savings Bank in Kansas City.

Tyler spends his spare time coaching little league soccer, playing softball, and spending time with family and friends.
