I wanted to thank Dru Wheatcroft for his assistance in refinancing my home loan. I was completely through the approval process of refinancing my home loan with a local mortgage broker and was just days from actually closing. From what I had been told by the broker, I was receiving the best rate in town (because he claimed to have called all of his resources, including local banks, to get their rates) and a very good deal. I figured I was too far in the process to consider anything else and felt good about everything.

Chris Tucker from Premier was doing my title insurance and suggested that I talk with Dru before closing. In talking with Dru, I quickly found out that the deal I was offered wasn't as sweet as it sounded. Even though the mortgage broker was pushing me to hurry up and get closed, Dru reassured me that this was a big decision and that there was no reason to rush. He found out that he could, so I immediately emailed the mortgage broker to let him know that I would not be closing with him.

The end results of refinancing with Dru and Mutual Savings as opposed to the mortgage broker: almost a half percent lower rate, $1300 less in closing costs, and opposed to having the servicing of my loan sold off to some big bank or company, it will be locally serviced so I can continue to contact Dru if there are questions moving forward.

This whole situation made me realize two things. First, the way Mutual Savings handles their mortgage loans is unique and better than anyone else in town--from the competitive rates and low closing costs to the local servicing and honest advice. Secondly, until your loan is closed, it's never too late to keep from making a mistake. I have and will continue to refer people to Dru and Mutual Savings because I know they'll get honest advice and will be taken care of with respect.
